Four generations at Hymers College!

The start of this term saw a new pupil starting at Hymers College in Year 4 – George Clark, aged 8 - and he comes from a long line of Old Hymerians! His dad, Jonathan, attended Hymers between 1980 and 1990, his grandfather, George Edward Clark attended between 1950 and 1958 and his Great Grandfather Kenneth Clark attended 1923 to 1926! It is believed to be the only 4 generations of direct descendents to attend Hymers College – unless of course anyone knows better!

Jonathan Clark commented, "It was always in my thoughts to give the same opportunities to my children as my brother Andrew and I had. It is a natural thing for the 4th generation of the Clark family to come here. We know that Hymers will get the best out of him, sports wise, socially and academically.”

Edward Clark added, "I am very proud to see my grandson start at Hymers. I believe we are the first family to have 4 generations to attend the school. I have been involved with the Old Hymerians since I left school and my father and I were the first father and son to be Presidents of the Old Hymerians Association in 1950 and 1980 respectively."

The newest recruit, George said, "It’s good at Hymers – my favourite lesson is maths and I also like Games , table tennis and swimming!”
