Today, Hymers College welcomed over 30 Old Hymerians at the annual Remembrance Day service. Mr John Clarke, Senior Assistant Pastor of the Hull Vineyard Church, gave the address which was followed by hymns and prayers to remember those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.

Christopher Meadway, a year 13 student at the school, played the Last Post which was followed by a minutes silence. The Chamber Choir then gave a moving performance of 'The Long Day Closes'.

Following the Remembrance Service, Old Hymerians were invited to join pupils in the dining hall for lunch. They were given a talk by Old Hymerian Martin Cocker about RAF Victoria Cross awards of the 2nd World War.
